Fusion mode on 1inch brings MEV-resistant swaps with competitive pricing — now also available on Solana.
If you're swapping on Solana using Fusion mode, here's what to expect and how the process works.
What is Solana Fusion?
Solana Fusion enables secure, optimized swaps by using the Dutch auction model. When you submit a swap, you create a swap intent — essentially a request that invites resolvers to compete for fulfilling your trade.
Unlike EVM networks, where this process starts off-chain, Solana Fusion is fully on-chain from the start.
Key Things to Know
You’ll need a small amount of SOL in your wallet to pay the transaction (network) fee when placing the intent.
Your intent is published directly on-chain.
A Dutch auction determines fill rate.
Resolvers compete to fulfill your swap and submit the final transaction.
What Happens After You Place a Swap Intent?
When using Fusion on Solana, you might notice that the swap doesn’t happen instantly. That’s by design — and it’s a core part of the Fusion model.
Here’s what to expect:
Waiting time: After submitting your swap intent, there's a short waiting period while the auction takes place. This is when resolvers bid to offer you the best possible rate.
Partial fills: Like on EVM, your swap might be fulfilled partially if the full amount isn't filled during the auction.
No fills: There’s also a chance your swap may remain unfilled — for example, if market conditions shift or no resolvers bid competitively.
A small fee: A minor transaction fee is required upfront when publishing the intent on-chain (paid in SOL). This fee supports the on-chain execution and doesn't guarantee a successful swap — it simply covers the network cost of placing the order.
Security & MEV Resistance
1inch prioritizes security and fairness for every swap on the Solana network. Our Fusion mode swaps come with built-in MEV resistance, which is crucial for maintaining fair trade execution and preventing potential financial loss with on-chain trading.
To reinforce trust, 1inch keeps all smart contract code fully open-source. This transparency empowers the community and external auditors to inspect, verify, and validate the integrity and reliability of our codebase—ensuring it meets the highest standards of security.
Solana swaps are already available in the 1inch dApp when you connect a compatible Solana wallet.
